A regular meetimg of the Southold Town Planning Board was held cn
Tuesday evening, April 8, 1958, at 7:30 P.~ iu the Town 01erkts Office,
8outh01d, New Yor~.
There were present: Messrs. John Wic~h_~, Chairman; Harold R. Reeve,
Henry F. Moisa, Alfred Grebe and Archibald N. Young.
Also present: Howard M. Terry, Building Imspeetcr, and Mr. Otto W. Van Tuyl.
The meeting was brought to order by the ~hairman and Mr. Archibald. N.
Young of 3outheld was introduced as a new member of the beard.
On motion duly made by Nr. Grebe, seconded by M~. Reeve, and carried
~in~tes of the Mar~h llth meeting were approved.
On motion made by Mr. Reeve, seconded by Nr. -~eisa, and carried, the
Minutes ef the March 18th meeting were approved.
in the matter off petition of Constance Kendrick Overten, which had been
held ever until this time, eemeerning a ohanEe ef zeno from "A" Residential
and Agricultural to '"B" Business district certain real property described in
the petition as 14G feet frontage x 392J.9 feet on the easterly side of New
~*fOlk Read, Cmtchegue, N. Y., it was the determination ef %he Planming
Board that it be
RE~LVEB, ~at the Pla~ng Beard recommend to the Town B~rd approval
of this change of zone.
In the matter ef petition of W. Harry Lister of Reckville Center and
Fleets Neck, Cutchogue~ N. Y.~ f~r a change ef zone fram m.A~. Residential and
Agricultmral te "B" Business District cf property situated at Fleets Neck~
Gutchogue, N. Y., it was the decision of the Board to held this mat~er over
to the next meeting as they had no definite word as ~e the exact ~imensiens
of the area to be rezoned,

~ro Reeve then presented petition ef Jehu Wiekb~m of Qutchegue, N. Y.,
for a ek_~__~ge of zeno from "A" Residential an~. Agricultural to "B" Business
District en parcel of land situated at Cutehegue, N. Y., described in the
petition amd attached sketch as Parcel "A", being approximately 950 feet long
by 230 feat wide.
Gm motion made by Mr. Noisa, seconded by Mr. Grebe, amd unanimously carried,
it was
RESOLVE~, That the Planning Beard recommend te the Town Board approval of
this change of zeno.
Board then discussed 'the storage of dy~s~ite in the Town ef Southeld. Om
motion duly made by r~r..Reeve, seconded by ~r. Grebe, and carried, it was
RESOLVED, That the Plam~ing Boar~ recommend to the Town Board that in cases
ef application for s~erage buildings for dy~_~mite or high explosives that such
eases be handled by the Board ef Appeals as a Special Exception.
Discussion was held on the "~pen Development Area" problem of the Western
end ef F~Shers Island a~d this matter was te ~e held in a~eyance for the present.
Beard discussed the matter of Sand, 6ravel, Fill Pit and Topsciloperations
in the Town ef Southold and read the replies that had been ~eceive~ te the form
letter which had been sent eu% to the various operators. Since a number of the
operators had net replied to the Board's letter the Clerk was instrmcted to
write a second letter to these operators ef s~.~d and gravel pits.
The following names were added te the list ef Sa~ amd Gravel operations
and the Olerk was instructed ts send the regular fern letter te these operators:

~atter Kapustka, Alvah's Lane, Gutohegue, New York
The Chairman asked Mr. Terry and the following members of the board te visit
the sand and gravel operations, listed ~elow, amd to submit a report of their
findings at the next meeting:
