the Town of Seuthold was held at the Town Clerk's Office, Maim Read,
New York, at 7:30 P.M., T~esday, October 14~, 1958.

Nr. Joh~ Wick~m, presiding chairman, called the meeting to order and state~
that the meeting was called m% the request of the Planning Board primarily te have
a joint discussion by all imtereste~ 'parties te the proposed amendments to the
Zoning 0rd~ence. Ne then asked Mr. Gillispie, Chairman of the Board ef Appeals,
te present the matters.
Nr. Gillispie stated that the following amendments had been propose~ in the
interest of clarity:
1. By amending ARTICLE. I, Section 1~0, by adding thereto a mew paragraph:
9A - FAMILY - One or more persons occupying premises as a simgle
housekeeping remit.
2, By amending ARTICLE VII by adding thereto a mew section to be
section
703B -CERTIFICATE ~F OCCUPANCY -
It shall be unlawfml to use or permit the use ef any
building or premises or part thereof, hereafter created,
erected, chsmged, converted or e~]_arged, wholly or
partly, in its us~ ef structure until a 0ertifieate of
Occupancy shall have bee~ issued by the Building Inspector.
Such certificate shall i~dicate that such building or
premises or part thereof and the proposed use thereof are
~ conformity with the provisio~s of the Ordinance.
(b)
Under such rules and regulations as may be established by
the Board ef Appeals a tempsrary Certificate of Gceupancy
for a part of any building er premises may be issued By
the Building Inspector.
Upon written request from the ~r or occupant the
Bui~g Inspector s~all issue ~ ~ertifieate of
0ccmpancy for any existing lawful use and occupancy
of a building er! premises.
3. By amending ARTICLE X by adding thereto a new section te be section
A lot, as defined in this Ordinance, m~y ~e sub-divided
provided that each resulting lot ~d all structures thereon
comply with the previsions of the Ordinance.
motion duly made by Mr. Reeve, seconded by ~r. Grebe, amd carried, it was
RESOLVED, That amendments 1 and 2 be recommended te the Town Board for
approval.
PJ~SOLVED FURT~ER, That amendment 3 is not te Be recommended for approval
as the Planning Board feels that the spirit of the Ordinance will be f~l~
without an additional amendment.

Discussion was held regardimg accessory bmildimgs, s~ch as potato storage
he~es; primarily the size a~d height of such structures. Om motion made by
Reeve, seconded by Mr. Grebe, amd carried, it was
RE~0LVED, That s~ch accessory bmildimgs be handled by the Board of Appeals
under the guise' of a variemce.
The Joint meeting of the three beards then adjourned.
The Plamnimg Board proceeded with their regular meeting.
Petition of Edwin H. King of Orient, New York, for a change of zone on certai~
rea~ property situated at East Nation, Long Islemd, amd more particularly ho~ed
amd described as fellows, was reviewed: Approx~m~e. ely 1~9' on the north bounded
by l~ of Gu~m_~.raes, 516' on the east bounded by ~amd of Irving LatB~m~ 14t.' on
t~e.~ s~ath ~m~t~d by la~d of Irving tatham emd 500' on the west he,reded by lsm~
of the petitioner, Edwin E. King.
It was the determimatio~ of the Planming Board that they wo~ld look favorably
on the request for a cB~ge frsm "A" Residential amd Agricultural to "G" Industrial
and it is the ~derstandi~g ef the Board that petitioner wishes to put in a gravel
soreeming pit. It was therefore, on motiom made by Mr. Grebe, seconded by Mr. Young,
and carried,
RESOLVED, That the Planning Bear~ recommemds to the Town Beard approval ef
this change of zone.

RESOLVe, T~at the Planniug Board recommend to the Town Board that Mr. Alfre~
Grebe, member of the Beard from F~mshers Island, be reimburse~ for his meals~ an~
any other out of pocket expenses i~ cemuection with his attendance at meetings of
the beard.
Petition of Arnol~ $. Sacks, Mattitu~k, New York , for a cbn~ge of zone from
"A" F~stdential and Agricultural to "B" Bmsinese distrietwas studied. Property i~
question located em Sou~ Aveeno, Mattituck, N. Y.
Mr. Young im eompany with ~r. Grebe or ~r. Wiekham will investigate the property
and make their report at the ~ext meeting and it is suggested the the Papish prsperty
and the Sepk~ property be included in a single business area.
A proposed division of land ef Will~.m T. King, dated September 26, 1958, was
presented tc the Bcard~ The Clerk was directed to write Mr. Kimg at Lake Park,
Ftori~a, a~vising that the Beard is net willing to recommemd approval of a~y%hing
less t~a~ the m*~tmmm size lots at this ti~e.
A p~el'~ pla~ of property of P~bert H. Preston at Sandy Beach near
Gree~ert, New York, date~ October 7, 1958, was studied and the Clerk was directe~
to write Mr. Preste~ advising that the Beard is not willing to recommend 5~' lots
at this time a~d smggesting that Mm. P~esto~ apply to the Southold Tow~ Beard ef
Appeals on each umdersized lot.
The next regular meeting of the Board is to be hel~ at 7:30 P.M. on Ne~e~r
18, 1~58, at the Town Clerk's Office, ~euthold, New York.
