HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/28/2012 TOWN OF SOUTHOLD LOSS CONTROL PROGRAM EXECUTIVE SAFETY COMMITTEE Minutes of June 28, 2012 Present: CouncilmanWilliam Ruland, Jennifer Andaloro, AssistantTown Attorney, Chief Martin Flatley, James McMahon, Deputy Public Works, Christine Foster, Personnel, Karen McLaughlin, Human Services Director, Jim Bunchuck, Solid Waste Coordinator, Phillip Beltz, Special Projects Coordinator. Excused: Peter Harris, Superintendent of Highways, Elizabeth Neville, Town Clerk Sandra Berliner, Secretary to Supervisor, John Cushman, Comptroller and Supervisor Scott Russell. Meeting began at 9:00 a.m. Review and Approval of Minutes from May 18, 2012 Building Surveillance: Hello Alert Proposal: Committee agreed to await responses from surveys that staff is completing before making any recommendations. In addition, it is possible to implement surveillance in phases to accommodate budget concerns. Employee Photo IDs: Chief suggested waiting until September to implement. Cell Phone Policy: Tabled. Hepatitis B Shots Status: Jen reported that second series are complete and anyone needing a third will contact Dr. Schiff directly. Site Inspections: Jen reported that CSEA delegated Tom Skaby as it representative to perform inspections of Town facilities to address and make recommendations regarding workplace violence concerns. Tom and Phillip completed the inspection on June 11th. Committee reviewed and evaluated recommendations and some will be amended to the Workplace Violence Prevention Plan that will be discussed with the Town Board. HCC Public Risk Control Services: They assist the Town and other insured public entities in evaluating existing and/or potential liability exposure with the public. A representative will evaluate Town facilities with public interaction on August 7th. 2012 Annual Workplace Violence Prevention Training: Phillip will contact National EAP to schedule training for August. Dissemination of Safety Surveys for Staff: Sent in mid-June, responses will be tallied by Sandi Berliner Penny BedelI-Capital One Annex Building: Requested meeting with committee. Will be invited to next meeting. Modifications to "Building Maintenance Request Form": Jen amended based upon comments from committee members. It will be distributed. Work-related Injuries/Supervisor Accident Investigation Report: Review of two injuries, all well documented with supervisor accident investigation reports. Next Meeting Date-To be determined.
