Dear Ms. Woodhouse:
We are writing to you as concerned citizens of the Cedar Beach Park area. We are
aware that the General Wayne Inn has a new owner, Mr. Joseph DiSalvo of Leecole
Corporation, 1407 Crosby Avenue, Bronx. Mr. DiSalvo graciously attended our annual
meeting on July 1 l'~2(~0,~'and gave a brief presentation for his plans for use of the
properties.
As immediate neighbors, we will all be directly impacted by the plans and ultimately, the
construction, which will occur in the area. The membership of the Association has
requested that the Board of Directors request direct notification of any and all
procccdings, including hearings, plans, pending votes, etc., related to the General
Wayne Inn and its eventual use.
We are very concemed that the beauty and idyllic nature, not to mention the property
values, in our neighborhood be maintained. We look forward to working closely with
regarding this matter, so everyone concerned will benefit. Thank you.

To The Board:
We are writing to you as concerned neighbors of the General Wayne Inn. It has come
to our attention that the Inn is under new ownership, and there are several proposed
uses for the property. Our concerns are several-fold and outlined herein.
First, we understand that the Inn is to be razed and in its place, both townhouses and a
single family dwelling are to be built. The zoning on the property permits both
commercial and residential uses. Superceding that zoning decision however, are pre-
existing Covenants and Restrictions on the property which expressly prohibit such
commercial use. I have enclosed a copy of the deed with the C&R for your review.
In addition, since the Inn is one of the oldest existing structures in the Town of
Southold, its destruction would be a significant loss from an historical perspective.
Given both of these factors, the Cedar Beach Park Association formally voices its
opposition to the destruction of the General Wayne Inn and to the proposed
construction of townhouses and a single family dwelling on the property. If the Inn must
be destroyed, then we support adherence to the Covenant and Restrictions so as to
maintain the character of the neighborhood and property values in the immediately
surrounding area. Thank you for your careful consideration of our opinion, and I may

I have been retained by Mr. DiSalvo, the owner of the above
referenced property. This parcel contains the remnants of the
General Wayne Inn and is split zoned: Hamlet Business along Cedar
Beach Road and A-C along Clearview Road. The General Wayne Inn

family residential homes.
