The SC heakh dept has now granted their approval as documented on: • DWG # 021010 Rev 8 • Permit Conditions C10-09-0009 I now await your further instructions at your earliest convenience, Yours sincerely, Robert Barratt PE Encl • Application for building permit dated Nov 6"',2009 • Health Dept Permit Conditions C10-09-0009 • Dwg # 021010 rev 8 (four copies) 1p p D C~n u ~`l zo,2 D FEB 2 6LDG. TDWh OF SD117H0LD Ms Patricia Conklin April 2nd, 2012 Southold Building Dept (Delivered by Hand) Subject: 1240 Village Lane, Orient, NY 11957-1255 Reference: Application for building permit Pat, The owner of the property visited the site on March 30a', 2012 and he now understands that there is insufficient room to successfully construct a handicapped access ramp without adversely affecting the visual impact of the stores circa 1900 facade. Accordingly he will not be seeking a waiver re any of the handicapped access regulations. Instead he will use the reaz entrance which he believes, offers the following advantages when used as the handicapped access entrance. • The ramp and landing meet all the requirements and a waiver is not needed • The handicapped access is out of the sight, when observed from Village Lane and the existing Landmark storefront remains as it is at present so a waiver is not required. • There is mom to install a generous landing area that if required, provides mom for a companion to escort the wheelchair and occupant into the store. • The ramp and landing will be approached from Village Lane by passing over a paved aft wide path to be constructed at grade on the north side of the store. The drawing attached shows the plan view of the aft wide access path, the ramp and the landing located at the same floor level as the store. We plan to construct the free-standing ramp and landing from seasoned timber finished with an appropriate stain and preservative. The owner looks forwazd to his approach meeting your approval. If you have any questions, the owner asks that you feel free to call me on 631 875 0275. Yours sincerely, ~ w~~~~ Robert Barratt Enclosure DWG # 032812 Rev 1 dated 03/30/12 cc.
