Box 1179 Southold, New York 11971 Fax (516) 765-1823 Telephone (516) 765-1800 NOV. o 2000 MINUTES Present were: DiCk Ryan, Ray Huntington, Joe Krukowski, Fred Lee, Reed Jarvis, Brian Murphy, Melissa Spiro and Marian Sumner. The Minutes of the October 30, 2000 meeting were accepted as read. The Committee reviewed the application of John Elak. It is 29 acres and is located on the Main Road in Mattituck. A motion was made by Ray Huntington and seconded by Joe Krukowski to have an appraisal done on this parcel. All were in favor. Melissa Spiro had an inquiry from a real estate agent regarding the Schmitt farm (95-3-8.1) located on Oregon Road. He was asking about the Town's development rights program, as he has a client who is interested in putting grapes on it. Old Applications: Cullinane - 19-1-1.2 - Still awaiting a sketch plan. Hubbard gifts - Town Attorney is processing. Mr. Hubbard is not interested in a contract. It is just a gift--no contract needed. Greg Yakaboski is working on deed. A site assessment will be done. Neuer/Sutermeister - 56-1-6 - Town Attorney is processing. Contract has been signed by both parties. County doesn't have any money for this. Melissa will get a copy of the contract so the Committee can review it at their next meeting. Fred gift - Greg Yakaboski said the closing will be the week after Thanksgiving. -2- Doroski Family Partnership - 69-1-9 - Contract signed by all. They want to close by the end of the year. Blum - 75-5-1 - Appraisal just received--copies will be made for members to review for next meeting. Schreiber- 95-1-4 - Offer accepted. Applicant working on subdivision. Goerler - 96-3-4.1 - Applicant working on subdivision. Town Attorney waiting for applicant's attorney regarding closing date. Jenkins- 102~2-2.3 - Town Attorney processing. McGunni~le - 106-6-14 - Dick has been going back and forth with the attorney, Mr. Costigan. An offer has been made. Marian Sumner will contact Mrs. McGunnigle. J. & C. Sidor- 107-10-6 - Still awaiting Health Department approval. Pollio - 108-1-1.1 - Peconic Land Trust referred this to County for Greenway Partnership. County awaiting appraisal. Executive Session - The Committee discussed the Starkie appraisal. Reed Jarvis will make the offer. The Committee also discussed the Scott appraisal. Reed will also make the offer on this. Simon Estate - 86-1-10.9 - Melissa will all and make the offer for the entire pieee~ The offer is subject to change, if they take any land out. Manor Grove - 53-1-1.2 - Melissa will make arrangements to have Ron Matusa, the appraiser discuss the appraisal with Dick, Melissa and Ray Huntington. Other Business - 2% Transfer Tax - Brian Murphy will discuss some things with Melissa and then the Committee and then it will be brought to the Town Board. Greenway Partnership - 70% - 30% - Melissa met with Steve Jones. He can send a letter to the County Legislature saying that certain parcels should have been on the list. Melissa made up a list to include: Cullinane, Blum, Simon, Starkie, Jenkins, Sidor and Elak. The Town Board is advertising for a member to the Land Preservation Committee to replace Noreen McKenna. Ray Huntington gave the members some suggestions for the forward momentum of the Committee. The next meeting of the Land Preservation Committee is scheduled for Monday, November 27, 2000 at 7:30 p.m. With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned at 10:15 p.m. iully submitte~,
