Introductions
Review of Stakeholder comments regarding affordable housing
Define the type and amount of affordable housing needed
Identify which single family homes might be converted into two-
family homes.
Publicize existing accessory apartment law.
o Solicit Suffolk County assistance to acquire and/or rehabilitate
housing through a public-private partnership. (The use of County
funds would not preclude giving year-round residents first priority.)
o Update and maintain inventory of Island housing stock.
o Get new tax maps for FI.
Review of Walsh Park material submitted by Frank Burr
Exploration of ways Town of Southold can help
o Tools to create needs assessment: historical data re housing
changes, collection of data # need housing and what type, what
can people afford
o Utilization of"application" to develop registry
o Accessory apartment fact sheets
o Review and determination of economic factors relating to housing
