Box 1179 Southold, New York 11971-0959 Fax (631) 765-1823 Telephone (631) 765-1889 OFFICE OF THE SUPERVISOR TOWN OF SOUTHOLD Economic Development Committee Meeting Minutes May 31, 2012 Present: Steve Latham, Anthony Cocheo, Linton Duell, Councilman Bill Ruland, Supervisor Scott Russell and Phillip Beltz. Excused/Absent: John Stype, Amy Magurie-Burns, lan Wile, Rona Smith, Donielle Cardinale and Carolyn Fahey. Local Development Corporations: In absence of Carolyn Fahey, Phillip reported that she had communicated that LDC has requirements that can be onerous and they require a long term commitment. Steve reiterated that they are far more cumbersome than they used to be Business Liaison Position: In absence of John Stype, Phillip reported that John is developing a "business contact sheet" and "how to guide." He will give a briefing to the committee at the June 14th meeting.. Teledyne/Mattituck Aviation: Supervisor Russell stated that he has arranged a meeting with Jay Wickham along with Linton Duell and Councilman Ruland. Listeninq Tour: Linton and Phillip reported that the meeting with Southold Rotary was very productive. Tony stated that the Southold Business Alliance will meet on Thursday, June 14th at 7:00 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus and he would like to know who will join him (no more than 3 members)--Steve volunteered to assist. Contact Tony if you would like to attend. Bill Lieblein has polled the marine industry and they would like to meet with the EDC either June 26, 27 or 28. Phillip will book an available date at the Peconic Lane Community Center. Chanqe of Meetinq Time: Carolyn had requested change of meeting time to 3:00 p.m. that would greater ensure her participation. Members agreed so we will meet one hour later. Other: Discussion about the success of the Greenport Tall Ships event and how it generated significant business for the local economy. Next Meetinq Date/Time: EDC will meet Thursday, June 14th at 3 p.m. at Town Hall meeting room. Respectfully submitted, Phillip Beltz
