SUMMER SWIMMING LESSONS: Letters were mailed out to the Mattituck Park
District, Cutchogue-New Suffolk Park District, and the Southold Park District requesting
permission to use their beaches this summer for our swimming lessons. Our thanks goes
out to all three districts for their continued support in allowing us to use their bay beaches
year after year.
2012 SUMMER SEASONAL STAFF: Letters were mailed to all 2011 summer staff
deemed worthy to be asked to work again this year. We have enough lifeguards to staff
our beaches but still need a few more beach attendants. Interviews have been scheduled
for Tuesday, May 8 at the recreation center.
PARKS~ BEACHES~ AND RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING: was
held on Tuesday, April 17 at town hall. Topics covered included the application
for use of town parks; Peconic Lane Community Center; Bittner Preserve; Graffiti
Removal; Additional Park Lands; Donations to the Town for Parks and
Recreation; Update ADA Equipment at Tasker Park; New Suffolk School District
Fields; and a Pamphlet of Town Code Regarding Responsibilities of Dog Owners.
Respectfully Submitted,
Ken Reeves
Recreation Supervisor
