The Code is intended to supplement and further clarify the responsibilities and ethical standards proscribed for Zoning Boards by the Town of Southold and New York State. The purpose is to set an expected level of personal and professional behavior to ensure that all ZBA members exercise the highest degree of honesty, dedication, confidentiality and professionalism. The Code applies to all members, and implementation of the policies contained therein is the responsibility of each individual member as overseen by the Chair of the Board. The Code is based upon advice obtained fi~om Special Counsel Phil Siegel and ATA Andaloro during several training sessions last year, and was adopted in its final fbrmat after numerous Board discussions and modifications to various drafts. Topics covered include: o Purpose of ZBA Meetings (Regular Meetings, Special Meetings, Executive Session) © ZBA Deliberations and Draft Decisions o Decorum and Conduct at Public Meetings o Post-Decision Conduct Board Members Holding Other Positions within the Town The Code of Conduct will be reviewed annually at the first ZBA meeting in Jailuary, mad may be modified or amended by vote of the majority of the members. 111.
