HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/2012May 04, 2012 To: Town Board Fr: Phillip Beltz Re: APRIL 2012 SUMMARY REPORT-SPECIAL PROJECTS COORDINATOR Housinq: · Facilitated Housing Advisory Commission (HAC) meeting and disseminated minutes. · Additional discussion with resident of Cottages at Mattituck seeking to sell his unit. · Provided orientation to new HAC member, Eric Dantes. · Attended additional HAC meeting facilitated by HAC member Dan Sarnowski regarding the possible development of multiple-family units. · With Heather Lanza and Mark Terry, meeting with real estate developer to discuss possible affordable housing rental opportunities. · Youth Bureau: · Facilitated Youth Bureau Board and Youth Advisory Council ("(AC) meetings and disseminated minutes. · Prepared 2012 Youth Bureau narrative for SC Youth Bureau and NYS Office of Children and Family Services. · Meeting with resident seeking to establish day care in $outhold School District. · Attended "Town Hall" meeting regarding prevention and intervention of youth substance abuse at Mattituck High School sponsored by the North Fork Alliance. · Provided orientation to three new Youth Bureau board members, Dan Durett, Crissy Witzke and Costa Kokkinos. · Meeting with Jim Bunchuck to develop initiative for youth to become involved in Town's recycling program as well as landscaping project at Landfill. Loss Control Proqram and Executive Safety Committee: · Meeting with Jen Andaloro to discuss amendments to the Town's Workplace Violence Prevention Plan. Comprehensive Plan: · Two team meetings regarding the development of the Agriculture Chapter. Aisc attended one public meeting to discuss draft chapter. · Began preparation of Human Services chapter that included meetings with Karen McLaughlin and Lynne Richards. Economic Development: · Prepared agendas and disseminated minutes of the April 5th and April 19th meetings of the Economic Development Committee (EDC). · Meeting with Town Board to provide overview of accomplishments of EDC and upcoming "Listening Tour" with businesses. Other: · Website development committee continues to meet regularly to shape content of future website. · Attended East End Supervisors and Village Mayors meeting · Attended Parks and Recreation meeting.
