Committee Meeting Minutes

TOPIC DISCUSSION ACTION
Review of Previous Minutes Minutes from 2/29 meeting were reviewed and accepted.
Southold Town Senior Jean DeLorme: Membership at Katinka is good. There is the potential
Services Report for Day Haven to open a social model day care in the Riverhead area.
This program will also accept Medicaid; details will be shared when
available. Robin Berger-Gaston will present on the "Aging Brain" at the
4/17 caregivers support group. May will be the annual luncheon.
Phyllis Markoponlos: The new senior citizens aide Stella Reinan has
started 5 mornings a week. She adds valuable experience with her
background in substance abuse counseling.
Jacqueline Maitinez: The satellite lunch program ay the Peconic Rec.
Center will hopefully kick off in May and will be offered 2X per month.
May is older Americans month and the Center will be busy with may
special presentations and programs including the "Senior Prom" on
5/11. The flyer for presentations was reviewed and will be distributed
next week.
Mental Health Integration Special topics for Older Americans month discussed. We will have our
Grant 4th annual Health Fair the last Wednesday in May. It will replace this
Senior Options and Solutions meeting on 5/30 and will be from 10:30am-1:00pm. Juliet will distribute
the flyer next week and asks all interested participants to get back to her
ASAP.
Agency Reports Jay Slotkin, MD: San Simeon Administrator search continues. Census
is good. Discussed status of ambulatory surgery renovation at ELIH.
Stephanie Pacchiano: Demo or MedReady and Medication Dispensing
Service, will be scheduled for next month."AGES" expo on 4/21 (see
attached flyer).

Shannon Prasad Mallon: Discussed the current status of managed
long-term care products serving Suffolk county. This will be increasing
as we move towards all managed Medicaid for long-term care in 2013.
Discussed new products Guildnet Gold and Advantage for dual
eligibles.
Theresa Russell: Represents Dominicans Sisters, discussed future of
Lombardi Program
Louise Blackburn: San Simeon medical model has 26 enrolled. Can
assist participants with almost any physical need including tube
feedings. Planning a caregiver "giff' day to honor caregivers with free
manicures, massage, wine and cheese reception, etc.
Jane Mendelson: Discussed AARP's key issues, dealing with hunger,
isolation, and livable cities/housing initiatives.
Our next scheduled meeting will be 4/25/12 2:00pm.
