SPECIAL EXCEPTION. By resolution of the Board it was determined that a special exception ( ) be granted (X ) be denied pursuant to Article.......IV.... Section ....�QQ..... Subsection ................ paragraph ................ of the Zoning Ordinance, and the decision of the Building Inspector ( ) be reversed ( )0 be confirmed because the public convenience and welfare and justice will not be served and the legally established or permitted use of neighborhood property will be substantially or permanently injured and the spirit of the Ordinance will not be observed, therefore be it RESOLVED that permission is denied. 8:10 P.M. (E.D.S.T. ) , upon application of Helmut Hass, for Southold Town Beach Motel, North Road, Southold, New York, for a special ex- ception in accordance with the Zoning Ordinance, Article IV, Section 408, for permission to erect and maintain a directional advertising sign on the property of Shell Service Station, Ted Wells, Proprietor, north side Hamilton Avenue and west side Wickham Avenue, Mattituck, New York. 2. VARIANCE. By resolution of the Board it was determined that (a) Strict application of the Ordinance (would) (would not) produce undue hardship because (b) The hardship created (is) (is not) unique and (would) (would not) be shared by all properties alike in the immediate vicinity of this property and in the some use district hecause (c) The variance (does) (does not) observe the spirit of the Ordinance and (would) (would not) change the character of the district because and thereforei it was further determined that the requested variance ( ) be granted ( ) be denied and that the previous decisions of the Building Inspector ( ) be confirmed ( ) be reversed. Municipality State hereby apply to THE ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS for o SPECIAL EXCEPTION in accordance with the ZONING ORDINANCE ARTICLE IV SECTION /.08 SUBSECTION THE SPECIAL EXCEPTION IS REQUESTED BECAUSE: I wish to erect a sign on the Property of the Shell Service station, Hamilton Ave & Wickham Ave, ~ttituck, Permission has been granted by Ted Wells, Proprietor. The sign would be aprox- i~ately 3ft by -Aft iu overall size, advertizing and giving location of the Southold Town Beach ~otel. ~ne motel is ~u the inside of the curve at Town Beach and is no~ redily visible until the motorist is directily at the location, so it is necessary to b~ve advertizing signs in advance of reaching the location. It is proposed to use the signs seasonaly, by putting them out in the spring and taking them in d~ring the winter. The-Board's favorable consideration wilZ be greatly appreciated. FOF~M~
