Box 1179 Southold, New York 11971 Fax (516) 765-1823 Telephone (516) 765-1800 LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING MONDAY, OCTOBER 18, 1999 MINUTES Present were: Dick Ryan, Joe Krukowski, Ray Huntington, Jim Pim, Noreen McKenna, Fred Lee and Tim Caufield. The Minutes of the September 20, 1999 were accepted as read. New Business - no new applications were received this month. Old Business - Noreen will contact Mrs. Scott as soon as the farmstand season is over. Schreiber application - he is hoping for a little more than was offered for his development rights. Other Business - Agricultural Protection Strategy - has reached the point of stalemate until January. Dick met with Jean Cochran this morning and spoke with her about the Land Preservation Coordinator. She begged our indulgence until January. Ray spoke to the committee re: Agricultural Protection Strategy. He showed the members a map he had picked up from Melissa Spiro. It would be a useful tool if the Town could produce maps that were smaller and portable, maps for the members of the committee showing spaces preserved, those open and potential target parcels. Tim Caufield said they take all existing data and digitize it. Tim will bring a map of the 12 block areas to the next meeting. Dick asked Tim -2- to come back to the next meeting with some proposals. Tim also discussed the Peconic Land Trust's Agenda with the committee. The meeting went into Executive Session at 9:10 to discuss offers and acceptances on appraised parcels, A motion was made by Jim Pim and seconded by Fred Lee to pull the offer on the Ernst property.
