Monthly Report

· On going trail maintenance at Laurel Lake, Downs Farm,
Arshamomaque, Arshamomaque Pond, Dam Pond and Mill Road
Preserves.
· Completed the boardwalk at Arshamomaque Preserve, as part of the
Bay to Sound Grant.
· Repaired and filled potholes at the Ruth Oliva Preserve at Dam
Pond.
· Renovated the kitchen area at the Recreation Center with a stove
hood, vent and new sink, as part of a HRC Outreach Program
Grant.
· Cleaned and painted the basement storage area at Town Hall.
· Tim Abrams is working with Suffolk Security System on problems
with the alarm system at Town Hall.
· Replaced the floor in the Southold Justice Court bathroom and
plumbing up-grade.
· Completed the trail on the Silver Eel Preserve on Fisher Island.
· Working with Burt's Reliable in reference to a puffback at the
Peconic Lane Community Center. No damage done and the heating
units were cleaned.
· Attended a meeting of the Safety Committee.
· Walked the proposed trail on the Sound View Dunes (Bittner)
property with members of the Land Preservation Committee.
· Attended a meeting with the Land Preservation staff in reference to
work to be done in reference to the acquiring of the Manor Grove
Preserve, by DPW.
· Re-installed an osprey pole, on Town property, that had fallen down
during the winter.
· Renovations to the 4th room at the Peconic Lane Community Center
are continuing with renovations to the stage, sheetrock, painting,
trim work and lighting.
· Checked all of the walking trails for proper signage and replaced or
repaired signs, as needed.
· Installed the floating docks at New Suffolk Boat Ramp and Klipp
Park for the season.
· Repaired the power sprayer, washer, dryer and sanitizer at the
Southold Animal Shelter.
· Tim Abrams is working with NY Fire Company and Lighthouse
Security on the alarm system at the Southold Animal Shelter.
· Installed snow fence at the Sound View Dunes (Bittner) Preserve in
the area that was recently planted with beach grass.
· Completed the Sound Avenue Road Armoring project, funded in
part by FEMA.
· Replaced the floor in the scale house at the Southold Collection
Center.
· Created a list of items to be repaired at the Fishers Island Police
Barracks by DPW, for completion in the spring of 2012.
