SOUTHOLD TOWN ANTI- BIAS TASK (PICNIC COMMITTEE MTG)

ANTI-BIAS TASK FORCE
· Mayor Nyce will speak at the picnic. Val suggests that we need official notice
sent to the town officials in writing. Merle will write those letters.
· Jus B Cuz will check back in with Val. They may have a conflict on that date
(Aug 27).
Liza Cappola cannot MC. Val has offered to do the job. · Supervisor Russell has been contacted by Mike. He will get back to him re: his
wife being able to interpret his and Mayor Nyce speech.
· Heather Domino will provide a sound system.
· Merle has written a letter to merchants and churches. The committee reviews and
makes corrections. Jean and Eli will go to the merchants in Southold, Cutchogue
and Mattituck (they will call on Cindy if they need help), and Val will cover
Greenport.
· Marjorie and Merle will get the letters out to the merchants and churches within a
week hopefully.
· Cindy will get copies of stationary and letter head/envelopes fi.om town hall. She
will also seek an updated list of churches and get them to Merle ASAP.
Jean will call Sir Roy and Party Rental.
· Marjorie was able to secure port a pottie rentals (3) fi.om Kevin Terry (Island
Portables)
· Peter will pick up the grill (ABTF pays for it). Eli will get the purchase order.
· Poster- Merle will speak with Jackie Rodgers to do an update which will go to
Academy Printing.
· Eli will inquire about Mcburnie tent rental.
· Carolyn- ROTC contact made ???
· Eli will call Maryann Rabbit for Irish stepdancem, Robert Brown (poetry and
Jason Mitchell.
· Val will get a list of group homes so that we can include them in our mailings.
· Suggestion is made to include CAST, Youth Bureau, and Rec centers (Crreenport
and Southoid town) also.
· Mike, Val and Loretta will meet with Tim Kelly (Suffolk Times) this Friday re:
picnic article. Bag Pipe possibility?
· Merle will also speak with Julie Lane for an article.
