Below find ideas that have been previously suggested, although additional suggestions are welcome: · Adopt mission statement. · Establish a "liaison" - "ombudsperson" to work with Town departments to streamline the vetting process for businesses to make the Town more "business- friendly." In addition this could include making recommendations of policies and procedures for Town departments. · Ensure that the former Capital One Operations Center in Mattituck is re- developed expeditiously that provides employment opportunities for residents. · Facilitate a "listening tour" - schedule community-based meetings throughout Town to meet with businesses to hear their concerns and their needs. This will accommodate business owners' schedules (early morning, late evening) · Developing Questionnaire of What Local Businesses Need and Want · Sponsoring Information and Resource Forum for Local Businesses · Collaborate with the Long Island Regional Economic Development Council · Address impediments of high commercial rents · Address issues oftelecommuters · Replicate successful business models in localities similar to the Town · Develop cutting edge website page that will assist in attracting businesses, provide resources, etc. Mayor David N¥ce Request: Mayor Nyce requested to meet with the committee to solicit their support for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend Tall Ships of America tour.
