HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/14/2011 Town of Southold Housing advisory commisSion MEETING MINUTES MEETING #65 December 14, 2011 Present: Frederick Andrews, Beth Motschenbacher, Rona Smith, Michael Herbert, Daniel Sarnowski, Leroy Heiliger, John Viteretti and Phillip Beltz. Excused/Absent: Jeanne Kelley and John Vahey Lottery for Resale of Cottaqes: At 5:00 p.m. Rona Smith facilitated the lottery for purpose of selection of candidate for purchase of resale unit of 360 Cottage Way. The two applicants, Crystal Bolling and Erick Haas were present and their names were printed on index cards and placed into a brown envelope and dropped into a box. It was explained to applicants that both met the priority population living in the same school district for 3 years and both met financial requirements so the envelope that is drawn first will be selected to proceed with a contract of sale. Ms. Smith drew the first envelope indicating "1 "on it and drew the second envelope indicating "2" on it. Upon opening envelope "1" was card with Ms. Bolling's name. Ms. Smith then opened envelope "2" with Mr. Haas' name. It was further explained that Ms. Bolling has two weeks to proceed with entering into a contract with seller Chris and Kelley Yousik. Mr. Haas will be approached to enter into contract if Ms. Bolling does not proceed with contract, cannot get mortgage commitment, etc. Mr. Haas will be eligible for consideration of other units for resale providing he meets income requirements. Introduction of John Viterettti: New member introduced. Approval of Minutes: Minutes approved for November 09,2011 Comprehensive Plan-Housinq Chapter o Review of proposed draft with comments for further editing. New census data has been inserted Discussion of limited relevance of foreclosure information as it is more of a national issue than local but it will remain to lesser degree ~ Discussion of need for glossary-will be contained in footnotes ~ Discussion of inserting concrete numbers after the development of the Land Use chapter Phillip will make revisions and forward to Fred for further editing and chapter will be considered finished as first draft and sent to the Comp. Plan team for review. Suffolk Times Advertisement: As recommended at the last meeting, an advertisement appeared in the Suffolk Times regarding submission of housing applications for consideration for future selection for Cottages resale units as well as accessory apartments Distribution: NY Times 12.5; 11 and 12/11/11 Next Meetinq Date: January 11,2012 at 5:30 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Phillip Beltz
