HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/17/1999 SOUTHOLD TOWN ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE March 17, 1999, 4:30 P.M. The ARC met at Town Hall, Members present were: Robert I. Brown, Co-Chairman Garrett A. Strang, Co-Chairman Robert W. Keith, Secretary, Mattituck Sanford Hanauer, Mattituck Garrett Strang reported that the Planning Board staff had requested that a member of the Committee review applications upon receipt to ascertain and request missing requirements. Discusssion was postponed until a meeting with greater representation. NORTH FORK BANK OPERATIONS CENTER (Mattituck - Formal Submission) Moved by Robed Brown and seconded by Sanford Hanauer, it was Resolved to Table the application to obtain a site plan and elevations. The Planning Board and the Building Department are asked to note that the drawings ware neither prepared nor stamped by a licensed design professional Vote of the Committee: Ayes: All. KING KULLEN SHOPPING CENTER (Formal Submission - Cutchogue) Moved by Robert Keith and seconded by Garrett Strang,it was Resolved to TABLE the application to obtain a submission of colors and signage. The Planning Board is asked to note that the columns in front of the entrance and exit to the supermarket should be relocated. Vote of the Committee: Ayes: All GENERAL WAYNE INN (Formal Submission - Southold) Garrett Strang recused himself). IMoved by Robert Keith and seconded by Robert Brown, it was RESOLVED to recommend to the Planning Board APPROVAL WITH CONDITIONS that (1) the elevation of the kitchen addition be brought forward by about 2 1/2 inches at the transition between the existing building and the addition and (2) the container to store tables and chairs be denied inasmuch as the mass and roofline are not consistent with the historic structure. A permanent structure sensitive to the adjoining building is recommended. The Board might consider the container as a temporary measure subject to pre-approval of the permanent building to be erected at a specified date. The Committee noted the placement and appearance of the propane tank but defers to the Planning Board. Vote of the Committee: Ayes ' All Robert W, Keith Secretary
