ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE
March 28, 2002
The ARC met at Town Hall at 4:30 p.m.. Members present were:
Garrett A. Strang, Co-Chairman
Robert I. Brown, Co-Chairman
Howard G. Meinke, Cutchogue
Robert Keith, Mattituck, Secretary
Also present were Victor L'Eplattenier and Scott Hughes of the Planning Board.
Staff, Diane Herold, Randall Goya of G & L Architects, and Ms. Pauline Satur.
Moved by Garrett Strang and seconded by Robert Brown, it was
RESOLVED to APPROVE the MINUTES of the meeting of February 14, 2002.
Vote of the Committee: Ayes All.
ST. PETER'S LUTHERAN CHURCH (Main Road - Greenport)
Ms. Herold described a 4000 square foot addition to the rear of the present
structure for a fellowship hall and offices, the exterior to match the present of brick
and stucco with white clad Anderson windows.
Moved by Howard Meinke and seconded by Robert Brown, it was
RESOLVED to APPROVE the application with the CONDITIONS that catalogue
cuts be submitted for any exterior lighting, that any air conditioning units be
located out of view from the road and screened with landscaping, and
consideration be given to raising the porch and foyer roof on the east elevation so
that it would not be sitting on the roof of the offices and fellowship hall.

FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH ( North Road - Cutchogue)
Ms. Herold presented a new sanctuary of gray brick and vinyl trim on all
elevations, using Anderson double-hung windows.
Moved by Robert Keith and seconded by Garrett Strang, it was
RESOLVED to TABLE the application awaiting catalogue cuts of the exterior
lighting, details of the signage and railings and treatment of the roof penetrations
that can be seen from the front. It was recommended that wood rather than vinyl
be used on the front gables.
Vote of the Committee: Ayes All.
SATUR FARMS (Alvah's Lane - Cutchogue)
Ms. Satur and Mr. Goya described a produce barn of contemporary design with a
pine board and batten exterior on the four elevations. The Committee
commended the design of the structure for an appearance well above the level of
prefabricated metal buildings often built for similar uses.
Moved by Robert Brown and seconded by Garrett Strang, it was
RE$OLV£D to APPROVE the application with the CONDITIONS that colors be
submitted for the personnel doors and railings, that catalogue cuts be submitted
for exterior lighting and that the committee be informed of the decision to use
bricks in part of the foundation.
