HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/19/2002SOUTHOLD TOWN ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE November 19, 2002 The ARC met at Town Hall at 4:30 p.m.. Members present were: .Garrett A. Strang, Co-Chairman Robert I. Brown, Co-Chairman Herbert Adler, Jr., Landmarks Preservation Committee Yan Reiger, Orient Howard G. Meinke, Cutchogue Robert Keith, Mattituck, Secretary Also present were Victor L'Eplattenier of the Planning Board Staff, Joseph Fischetti for the North Fork Bank as well as Stanley and Paul Pawlowski for Reflecting Nature. Moved by Herbert Adler and seconded by Robert Keith, it was RESOLVED to APPROVE the MINUTES of the meeting of September 12, 2002. Vote of the Committee: Ayes All. NORTH FORK BANK (Main Road - Mattituck) The 20,000 square foot addition was described. It will have exterior finishes and lightingto match the present building. It was RESOLVED by Howard Meinke and seconded by Robert Brown to APPROVE the application with the CONDITION that the elevator penthouse be clad with material to match the exterior of the building. Vote of the Committee: Ayes All. REFLECTING NATURE (Cox Neck Lane - Mattituck) The 2500 square foot metal storage building will have bays in the rear and colors of green for the roof and the lower four feet of the sides with white above and for the trim and doors. Considering the location, use and extensive screen plantings, it was RESOLVED by Herbert Adler and seconded by Howard Meinke, to APPROVE the application with the CONDITIONS that the shutters be eliminated and that the signage be submitted for review. Vote of the Committee: Ayes All. FISHERS ISLAND CLUB The plans present a golf course maintenance building similar to the existing buildings, all sited away from public view. Based on the recommendations of Fishers Island Committee members Reynolds DuPont and Bernadette Walsh who have seen the plans and inspected the site, it was RESOLVED by Herbert Adler and seconded by Robert Keith to APPROVE the application. Vote of the Committee: Ayes All. LETTER TO THE TOWN BOARD ABOUT CODE CHANGES. Garrett Strang indicated that the Committee has not received a response to its request to participate in the drafting of code changes relative to its responsibilities, particularly in adding the review of site plans for residential subdivisions. The Committee asked that the request be sent again. Robert Keith Secretary
