HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/23/2003 SOUTHOLD TOWN ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE September 23, 2003 The ARC met at Town Hall at 4:30 p.m.. Members present were: Garrett A. Strang, Co-Chairman. Robert I. Brown, Co-Chairman Herbert Adler, Jr. ,Landmarks Preservation Committee Herbert Ernst, Southold Sanford Hanauer, Mattituck Robert Keith, Mattituck, Secretary, Also present were Bruno Semon of the Planning Board staff, Nancy Steelman, Lisa Callaghan and Patrick Metres for North Fork Foods; Patricia Moore and Michael Irving for New Suffolk Shipyards; Joseph J. Frohnhoefer II, Joseph J. Frohnhoefer III, Brett Kehl and Gail Wickham for Seatow Services; and Thomas McCarthy for Mattituck Self Storage. Moved by Herbert Adler and seconded by Sanford Hanauer, it was RESOLVED to APPROVE the MINUTES of the meetings of August 5 and August 11,2003. Vote of the Committee: Ayes all. NORTH FORK FOODS (North Road - Southold) It was RESOLVED by Robert Keith and seconded by Herbert Ernest to APPROVE the application as submitted. Vote of the Committee: Ayes all. Applicants are reminded that deviations from approved plans without the review and approval of the Architectural Review Committee will cause recision of the original approval and may negatively impact securing the Certificate of Occupancy. NEW SUFFOLK SHIPYARD (New Suffolk) It was RESOLVED by Robert Brown and seconded by Garrett Strang to thank the Planning Board for the referral but to acknowledge that there are no architectural characteristics that bear comment. Vote of the Committee: Ayes all. SEA TOW SERVICES (Boisseau Avenue - Southold) In a PRE-SUBMISSION discussion the owners described a proposed headquarters building and adjacent storage spaces, including a new steel building. The Committee found the plans agreeable in concept, suggesting Hardie Plank rather than Vinyl as it was proposed for the siding and asking for final plans, a schedule of finishes and samples. MATTITUCK SELF- STORAGE 0Nickham Avenue) It was RESOLVED by Herbert Adler and seconded by Herbert Ernst to APPROVE the application with the CONDITIONS that a final schedule of colors be submitted along with the design of the signage. Vote of the Committee: Ayes all. Applicants are reminded that deviations from approved plans without the review and approval of the Architectural Review Committee will cause recision of the original approval and may negatively impace securing the Certificate of Occupancy. VAN DUZER GAS SERVICE COMPANY (North Road - Southold) It was RESOLVED by Robert Keith and seconded by Sanford Hanauer to APPROVE the schedule of finishe~'as submitted. Vote of the Committee: Ayes All. Applicants are reminded that deviations from approved plans without the review and approval of the Architectural Review Committee will cause recision of the original approval and may negatively impact securing the Certificate of Occupancy. CHRIS MOHR LAWN AND LANDSCAPE (North Road - Cutchogue) It was RESOLVED by Robert Keith and seconded by Herbert Adler that the application be APPROVED with the CONDITION that the barn be sided the same as the garage or with some alternative material to be submitted, rather than T 111. Vote of the Committee: Ayes All except Garrett Strang who had recused himself. Applicants are reminded that deviations from approved plans without the review and approval of the Architectural Review Committee will cause recision of the original approval and may negatively impact securing the Certificate of Occupancy, SILVER NAILS WINERY (Main Road - Southold) It was RESOLVED by Sanford Hanauer and seconded by Herbert Ernest to APPROVE the APPLICATION as resubmitted. Vote of the Committee: Ayes All.
