ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW COMMITTEE
May 27, 2004
The ARC met at Town Hall at 4:00 p.m. Members present were:
Garrett A. Strang, Co-Chairman.
Robert I: Brown, Co-Chairman
Herbert Adler, Jr. Landmarks Preservation Committee
Sanford Hanauer, Mattituck
Ronald McGreevy, Mattituck
Howard Meinke, Cutchegue
Robert Keith, Mattituck, Secretary
Also present were Bruno Semen of the Planning Board staff, Nicholas
Planamento, Gary Salice and James Fitzgerald for North Fork AudioNideo, and
James DeLucca for RMB Realty.
Moved by Herbert Adler and seconded by Garrett Strang, it was RESOLVED to
APPROVE the MINUTES of the meeting of April 29, 2004.
Vote of the Committee: Ayes all.
CVS PHARMACY (Main Road - Mattituck)
The applicant agreed to meet the additional conditions regarding the placement of
the dormers and the signage. Also it was learned that the park in front was the
property of New York State. It was RESOLVED by Garrett Stramg and seconded
by Robert Brown to APPROVE the APPLICATION.
Vote of the Committee: Ayes All.
Applicants are reminded that deviations from approved plans without the review
and approval of the Architectural Review Committee will cause recision of the
original approval and may negatively impact upon securing the Certificate of
Occupancy.
RMB REALTY (North Road - Southold)
The Committee reviewed catalogue cuts of the building mounted and courtyard
lamppost lighting fixtures and learned that bricks will be used for the internal
sidewalks and that poles and fixtures would be required for the land banked
parking area. It was RESOLVED by Robert Keith and seconded by Robert Brown
to APPROVE the APPLICATION with the final CONDITION that the proposed
signage be submitted for review.
Applicants are reminded that deviations from approved plans without the review
and approval of the Architectural Review Committee will cause recision of the
original approval and may negatively impact upon securing the Certificate of
Occupancy.
NORTH FORK CUSTOM AUDIONIDEO (6619 Main Road - Mattituck)
The applicant described changes to an existing building that do not alter its
footprint. These include windows and doors on the east and south elevations, the
use of cedar shingles on elevations except the north, and a reverse gable and
parapet on the east roof. Colors will be bleaching oil on the shingles and white
trim. After an extensive discussion of alternatives, it was RESOLVED by Sanford
Hanauer and seconded by Garreft Strang to TABLE the APPLICATION to allow
reconsideration of the parapet as it is viewed from the west and submission of the
color and design of the signage as well as the exterior lighting fixtures.
Vote of the Committee: Ayes all.
BILL FOX GROUNDS MAINTENANCE (2595 Peconic Lane - Peconic)
Comment was not required on the external design of the structure. It was
RESOLVED by Garreft Strang and seconded by Sanford Hanauer to TABLE the
APPLICATION awaiting signage, colors and exterior lighting fixtures,

THE OLD BARGE (Main Road - Southold) Robert Brown recused himself.
The Committee reviewed the final version of the plans presented earlier on
November 6, 2003, It was RESOLVED by Robert Keith and seconded by Howard
Meinke to APPROVE the APPLICATION with the CONDITION that catalogue
cuts be submitted after a restudy of the wall mounted lighting fixtures.
Vote of the Committee: Ayes all.
