HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/20/2007 Town of Southold Axchitectural Review Committee Minutes December 20, 2007 4:00pm Town Hall Conference Room Members Present: Chairman Sanford Hanauer;Joseph Lee; Ronald McGreevy; Howard Meinke; Nicholas Planamento; Ural Talgat; Bruno Semon, Planning Board Staff; Elizabeth Cantrell, Secretary. The minutes for the November 29, 2007 meeting were approved. New Applications: LAUREL CREEK NURSERY SCTM #1000-125-3-2.3 APPROVED: The Committee is approving this application with the recommendation of placing screening along the east and north elevated side of the property where the existing greenhouses are by using evergreens (e.g.: Jumpers, Eastern Red Cedars). The CornnUttee fully endorsed the wind turbine project, even though it is not under review through the Architectural Review Committee. MOTION MADE: Ural Talgat; SECOND: Howard Meinke. Ali in favor CUTCHOGUE FIRE DISTRICT SCTM #1000-84-4-1 APPROVED: The Committee fully endorses the project but requests that the applicant takes into consideration the passing traffic and the local residential character in using minimum outside lighting, going to the darkskies.org website and reviewing their specifications on lighting, and add more landscaping on the north side of the property along Route 48. If any roof penetrations need to be made, it is done on the south side of the building. MOTION MADE: Sanford Hanauer; SECOND: Howard Meinke. AL!in favor. Revisited Applications: SEIFERT CONSTRUCTION SCTM #1000-141-3-44 Fred Seifert & John Seifert, Owners and Patricia C. Moore, Esq. presented the application. Ural Talgat recused himself of this application. APPROVED: The committee fully endorses the revised application as it was shown today depicting the requested revisions made at the November meeting. MOTION MADE: Ronald McGreevy; SECOND: Nicholas Planamento. All in favor. NORTH FORK HARDWARE SCTM #1000-62-1-3 Michael LeStrange, owner and Robert Brown, Architect presented the application. CONDITIONAL APPROVAL: Pending submission of illumination type(s) and height of lighting fixtures in parking area; lighting cuts on building noting the lamp type and locations; siding, roofing and trim specifications on the building elevations, dimensions, and colors; define decorative bracket type; type of screening to be used around dumpster if applicant decides to add one; submission of free-standing sign and lighting fixture for sign; define the column and base in detail; submit actual roof material sample, and brick paver sample. MOTION MADE: Ural Talgat; SECOND: Ron McGreevy. All in favor. A motion was made to close the meeting at 5:50pm. All in favor. Elizabeth Cantrell Secretary
