- Moved by Councilman Lizewski, seconded by Councilwoman Hussle, it was
RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby appoints
Daniel Gladstone, Noreen Schroeder, and Kelth W. Whitsit as members of
the Southold Town Tree Committee, effective Immediately through September
22, 1995, they to serve without compensation.
22.- Vote of the Town Beard: Ayes: Justice Evans, Councilwoman Oliva,
Councilman Townsend, Councilwoman Hussie, Councilman Lizewski,
Supervisor Wlckham.
This resolution was duly ADOPTED.
23.-Moved by Councilwoman Oliva, seconded by Councilman Townsend, it was
RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby di.ssolves
the Supervisorls Parks and Recreation Committee, created on May 3, 199L~,
and discharges the members appointed to said committee, effective
immediately.
23.- Vote of the Town Board: Ayes: Justice Evans, Councilwoman Oliva,
Councilman Townsend, Councilwoman Hussie, Councilman Lizewski,
Supervisor Wickham.
This resolution was duly ADOPTED.
SUPERVISOR WlCKHAM: The resolution, that we just read, disbands the
committee on ParKs and Recreation. The next resolution is to reestablish
that committee with a somewhat reformulated charge.
24.-Moved by Supervisor Wickham, seconded by Councilwoman Oliva, it was
RESOLVED that the Town Board of the Town of Southold hereby creates a
Parks, Beaches and Recreation Committee to 'provide and enhance the parks,
beaches and recreation opportunities in the Town of Southold, Jn relation to
their intended uses; and be it
FURTHER RESOLVED that the Town Board hereby establishes the following
Committee goals:
1 Develop short term, long term and on-going maintenance' plans and
budgets to enhance Southold's parks,beaches and recreational
facilities.
2 Investigate, develop and recommend addltlonal properties for
acquisition of parks, beaches and recreational facilities.
3 Recommend rules and regulations, for all parks, beaches and
recreat~ion fac~lltles.
g. To meet with other Town Committees and other interested entities,
in order to develop mutually consistent goals and objectives for
the planning, development and enhancement of parks, beaches,
open space and farmland preservation.
5. To recommend ways the Town could realize greater revenues from
parks, beaches and recreational facilities.
6. To recommend to the Town Board a rational system for handling
parking at parks, beaches and road ends.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that' the Town B0ard hereby appoints the
following individuals to this Parks, Beaches and Recreation Committee,
effective immediately through November 15, 1995, they to serve without
compensation:
Jean W. Cochran, Chairperson
Superintendent of Highways Raymond L. Jacobs
Community Development Director James C. McMahon
Recreation Supervisor Kenneth Reeves
Supervisor Thomas Wickham
Councilwoman Ruth D. Oliva
Marqaret Murphy
