HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/2011Department of Public Works Monthly Report Date: September 2011 · Working with John Sepenoski on the Bay to Sound Project. · On going trail maintenance and storm damage clean up on Laurel Lake, Downs Farm, Arshamomaque, Arshamomaque Pond, Dam Pond and Mill Road Preserves. · All of the major work on the 3 meeting rooms, the 2 bathrooms and the office/library rooms has been completed and the Peconic Lane Community Center and a ribbon cutting was held on September 26th. · Attended meeting with Laure Klahre from the Land Preservation Office, in reference to stewardship & management plans. · Working on the donation of a handicapped playground at Tasker Park. · Attended several meeting with Phillip Beltz on the Comprehensive Plan - Parks, Beaches & Recreation and the Community Development Block Grant Program Budget. · Attended a meeting with Phillip Beltz and Tanya Palmore, Director of the North Fork Housing Alliance, in reference to the Home Improvement Program and the projected budget · Filled in an old well pit on the Conway Farm that may have been dangerous to people looking at the farm for purchase. · Met with Suffolk County DOT for an inspection of the Bay Avenue Bridge, East Marion. · All of the properties for the 2011 Deer Management Program have been prepared (signs, hunting zones, trails cleared of storm debris). All of the hunting slots have been filled (75) and there are 9 hunters on the waiting list. · Repaired the washer and the sanitizer at the Animal Shelter and a broken lock on an outside kennel. · The beaches have been officially closed for the season and lifeguard stands, signs and swim lines have been removed. · All of the trees in the Police Impound Area have been removed as a result of one of the trees came down during Tropical Storm Irene and damaging a vehicle in the Impound Area. · Revised the "Road-End Access Permit Form" and sent a copy to the Town Attorney, Highway Department and the Trustees for their comments. · Set up the refrigeration unit in back of the Recreation Center for the 2011 Deer Management Program. · Backfilled the bulkhead at West Mill Road, Mattituck and put snow fence across the area.
