HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/2011Department of Public Works Monthly Report Date: August 2011 · Attended a meeting with John Sepenoski in reference to the Bay to Sound Project. · On going trail maintenance on Laurel Lake, Downs Farm, Arshamomaque, Arshamomaque Pond, Dam Pond and Mill Road Preserves. · Working on the Peconic Lane Community Center with opening scheduled for September 26th · Attended meeting with Laure Klahre from the Land Preservation Office, in reference to stewardship & management plans. · Working on the donation of a handicapped playground at Tasker Park. · Attended several meeting with Phillip Beltz on the Comprehensive Plan - Parks, Beaches & Recreation and the Community Development Block Grant Program Budget · Conducted an inspection of the Conway Farm with the Land Preservation Department prior to closing · Installed signs and handicapped parking lines at Town Beach · Met with NYSDOT for an inspection of the Bay Avenue Bridge, East Marion · Repaired the washer and the sanitizer at the Animal Shelter .... several times · Set up for "Dragonfly Day" at Skipper Horton Park with North Fork Audubon · Attended a meeting of the Southold Town Recreation Committee · Attended a meeting with Land Preservation staff in reference to the 2012 Land Preservation Stewardship Budget · Attended a meeting with Karen McLaughlin in reference to the 2012 Budget and the Human Resources/Katinka Buildings · Attended with Pete Harris in reference to improvements to Highway Department Buildings · Working with Jeff Standish on the 2012 DPW Budgets · Attended a meeting with several of the "Save Goldsmith Inlet" committee in reference to dredging, armoring Mill Road and water quality issues · Had a meeting with the Trustees in reference to the "Road Access Permit" permit form and we are working with the Highway Department to revise the form · Worked with the Southold Highway Department in reference to Hurricane Irene clean up · Installed new carpet in Chief Flatley's Office at the Police Department · Installed soccer nets at the Peconic Lane Community Center · Re-installed to door at McCabe's Beach that was ripped off the hinges · Installed CO2 detectors in the HRC and Katinka House · Repaired 2 broken steps on the Rock Point Road Stairs · Mowing and weeding at the Mattituck Train Station · Set up for the Peconic Panthers Football season at Cochran Park · Working with Miller Environmental on the donation of the "Osprey" sculpture at Cochran Park
