Monthly Report
Date: July 2011
· Assembled baseball backstop that was donated by the Richard &
Mary Morrison Foundation at Cochran Parle
· Assembled and installed a scoreboard that was donated by the
Richard & Mary Morrison Foundation at Cochran Parle
· Installed new tile floor in the Record Management Office.
· Attended a meeting with John Sepenoski in reference to the Bay to
Sound Project.
· Removed graffiti that was carved into the Arshamomaque Preserve-
Wildlife Observation Blind.
· Repaired erosion along the edges of the Founder's Boat Ramp at the
end of Terry Lane, Southold.
· Repaired erosion at the end of Young's Road, Orient.
· Installed "No ATV" signs on Town of Southold property on Corey
Creek
· Due to a high bacteria count, as per the Suffolk County Health
Department, the well at Tasker Park was chlorinated and new water
samples taken.
· On going trail maintenance on Laurel Lake, Downs Farm,
Arshamomaque, Arshamomaque Pond, Dam Pond and Mill Road
Preserves.
· The demolition and removal of the concrete block building, concrete
foundation and old dock at the Laurel Lake Preserve has been
completed.
· Met several times with Laure Klahre from the Land Preservation
Office, in reference to stewardship & management plans.
· Continuing work with Lori Hulse and the Army Corps of Engineers
in reference to the Mattituck Inlet Dredging Project.
· Ordered new fire doors for the Human Resource Center, with
funding from NYS.
· Attended a meeting with Construction Consultants and our DPW
Maintenance Mechanics to go over the HVAC system at the Peconic
Community Center.
· Coordinated and picked up the 2011 Tax Map Books (30) for various
Town Departments, from the Suffolk County Center.
· Working on the donation of a handicapped playground at Tasker
Park.
· The restoration work at Town Beach has been completed, with
Corazzini Asphalt paving the damaged portion of the parking lot.
· The walking track at Cochran Park has been re-surfaced.
· DPW staff planted flowers in front of Town Hall and at the Southold
Police Department that were donated by CJ VanBourgondien, Inc.,
Peconic.
· SCWA has installed the water main into the Peconic Community
Center and the plumber has inspected the building for leaks .... none.
· Attended several meeting with Phillip Beltz on the Comprehensive
Plan - Parks, Beaches & Recreation.
