HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/2011Department of Public Works Monthly Report Date: June 2011 · McCabe's Beach and Kenny's Beach clean up has been completed and the restoration of Town Beach has been completed, except for the final course of asphalt. We are still waiting for permits for the Sound View Avenue Road Restoration Project. · DPW staff assisted in the "Relay for Life" event at Cochran Park. · Set-up and break down for the Auto Club event at Strawberry Fields Fairgrounds. · Assisted the North Fork Chamber of Commerce and the Mattituck Park District in applications for funding from the Suffolk County Downtown Revitalization Program. · Attended a meeting of the Executive Safety Committee. · Attended a meeting with John Sepenoski in reference to the Bay to Sound Project. · On going trail maintenance on Laurel Lake, Downs Farm, Arshamomaque, Arshamomaque Pond, Dam Pond and Mill Road Preserves. · Held a pre-demolition meeting with the contractor that was awarded the bid for the demolition and removal of the concrete block building and old dock at the Laurel Lake Preserve. · Met several times with Laure Klahre from the Land Preservation Office, in reference to stewardship & management plans. · Continuing work with Lori Hulse and the Army Corps of Engineers in reference to the Mattituck Inlet Dredging Project. · Dumped additional material in the hole, for the 3rd time in 2011, in back of the Town bulkhead at the end of Mill Road, Mattituck. This bulkhead may need to be replaced in 2012. · Lawn mowing and maintenance is in full swing at all Town facilities with some weeks averaging over 85 acres of mowing. · Replaced concrete sidewalk entrance to Katinka House. · Met with Phillip Beltz to address the reduction of the federal funds for the Community Development Block Grant. · Met with Phillip Beltz on the Comprehensive Plan- Parks, Beaches & Recreation Plan.
