II. Board and Office Policies, Practices, and Activities: Revised Instructions and Application Form for Special Exception Permit for an Accessory Apartment in an Accessory Structure Given the Department's year long experience with this relatively new application type, it became apparent that improvements could be made to the office instructions sheet, list of submission requirements, and application form itself. The Chairperson drafted substantial revisions that were reviewed by the ZBA staff, Assistant TA, Building Department Head, and Members of the Board of Appeals. After incorporating recommended modifications, at the Special Meeting on June 15,2011, the Board unanimously approved a final draft for office use. These revisions clearly explain, in user friendly language, each of the submission requirements, the procedures applicants must follow, and the steps the ZBA will take in reviewing the SE request and reaching a decision. The application form was simplified and sections of the relevant code are now cited for the convenience of applicants and their agents in presenting the merits of their case to the Board of Appeals at a public heating III.
