Based upon the information provided on the LWRP Consistency Assessment Form submitted to this department, as well as the records available to me, it is my recommendation that the proposed action is CONSISTENT with the denoted following Policy Standards and therefore is CONSISTENT with the LWRP: 4.1 Minimize losses of human life and structures from flooding and erosion hazards. The proposed action is located within a FEMA FIRM Zone AE Elevation 6. The area seaward of the proposed structure is located within an area forecasted to experience "moderate wave height" in a storm event. (FIRM Map Number 36103C0i76H) The following management measures to minimize losses of human life and structures from flooding and erosion hazards are suggested: A. Minimize potential loss and damage by locating development and structures away from flooding and erosion hazards. Manage development in floodplains outside of coastal hazard areas so as to reduce adverse environmental effects, minimize the need for future structural flood protection measures, or expansion of existing protection measures and to meet federal flood insurance program standards. The proposed residence and sanitary system is located on the parcel to achieve the greatest distance from the surface waters practicable. The structure will be required to be constructed to FEMA standards. Figure 1. Subject parcel. To further Policy 5.
