HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/2011Department of Public Works Monthly Report Date: March 2011 · Submitted information to FEMA, NYSDEC, NYSDOS and Army Corps. for permits in reference to the December 26 & December 27, 2010 storm (Town Beach, McCabe's Beach, Kenny's Beach and the erosion along Sound View Avenue). · Attended a meeting of the Executive Safety Committee and DPW completed the recommendations of the Executive Safety Committee at the Building Department/ZBA Office, the Landfill Office and the Human Resource Center. · Met with Verizon in reference to the removal of 12 LIPANerizon poles at the Bittner Preserve. · On going trail maintenance on Laurel Lake, Downs Farm, Arshamomaque, Arshamomaque Pond, Dam Pond and Mill Road Preserves. · DPW staff is work at the Peconic Community Center and is making good progress renovating the building. · Completed and sent out an RFP for carpeting of the Peconic Community Center. · Met several times with Laure Klahre from the Land Preservation Office, in reference to stewardship & management plans. · Attended a meeting in reference to the Animal Shelter Contract. · Getting the baseball fields at Old School House Park, Laurel Lake, Cochran Park and Tasker Park ready to the 2011 season. · Installed a buzzer for the Justice Court in the office lobby. · Prepared and sent out the 2011 Shellfish Contracts to Cornell Cooperative Extension. · Sent out the 2011 Youth Services Contracts to Suffolk County Youth Bureau. · Installed new carpet in the Police Department Radio Room. · Attended a meeting with Phillip Beltz with the new Suffolk County Community Development Director to discuss the Southold Community Development Program and the 2012 CDBG Program. · Receive the "final" payment from the insurance company in reference to the March 2010 water damage at the Southold Police Department. · Attended a meeting of the Southold Recreation Committee. · Attended a 2nd meeting with FEMA with site visits to damaged areas. · Attended a meeting with Phillip Beltz and Tanya Palmore, Director of the North Fork Housing Alliance in reference to Home Improvement Program status and new SC Community Development Office rules for recaptured CDBG funds.
