Present: Daniel Sarnowski, Frederick Andrews, Beth Motschenbacher, Michael Herbert, LeRoy
Heyliger, Rona Smith, & Phillip Beltz. Excused/Absent: Nancy Pester,Jeanne Kelly,John Yahey
and Stephen Kiely
Welcome and Introduction of New Members: Fred Andrews and Dan Sarnowski welcomed.
Approval of Minutes: Minutes approved for March 09, 2011.
Update of Resale of Cottaqes: The contract in process with the second buyer has terminated
and new buyers have been identified and interviewed who will need to take First Time Homebuyer
education classes at CDCLI.
Habitat for Humanity Recap; Telephone conversation with Empire State Development yielded
no interest for rehabilitation of potential site.
Family Service Leaque, HomeShare Lon,cl Island Recap: On Wednesday, May 11th the HAC
will host educational forum of HomeShare Long Island at the Town's Human Resource Center.
Presentation will be made to seniors prior to lunch and to the general public after lunch allowing
time for questions and answers.
Housinq Affordability Report: Beth Motschenbacher presented report indicating the challenges
American families face to afford housing costs. In addition, severe housing cost burdens now
impact 22.65 of families. In addition, Rona Smith provided Historical Affordability Index reflecting
annual affordability index based on income, mortgage rate and median sales price.
Federal Housinq Finance Aqency House Price Index: Tabled.
Distribution: Newsday 03.24.11 and NY Times 03.31.11.
Homework Assiqnment: HAC will review the Permanent Fixed Improvement Policy and form and
ascertain whether it needs to be updated (last reviewed July 2006).
Other: Michael requested that HAC receive copy of the Cottages' covenants and restrictions.
Next Meetinq Date: As several HAC members will attend May 11th forum at the HRC, another
meeting will not be scheduled for May unless necessary.
