property is on Elijah Lane between Sound Avenue and Main Road in
Mattituck. There are 28+ acres being offered. Joe will call Mrs.
Woodhull and tell her that the committee is very interested in this
property; however, there is no money in farmland at this time but we will
keep this application open.
The committee also reviewed the application of Walter Gatz/Ceorge
McDowell whose property is on Oregon Road in Cutchogue. Thirty one
acres are being offered. The committee is also interested in this
property. Joe will contact Walter Gatz or George McDowell and tell them
that there is no money in farmland at this time. This application will be
kept open.
The committee discussed Michael Croteau~s application. It will be
put on hold until the committee gets a chance to discuss it with him.
Laury Dowd, Town Attorney, told Joe Cold that there are very few
guidelines to building on agricultural property where the development
rights have been purchased by the Town. If greenhouses are put in the
topsoil should be kept. The way the code is written now, we cannot tell
the owner not to strip the topsoil. We need more specifics in the code,
but not too much.
With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adjourned
at 9:20 p.m.
Respectfully submitte~d,
Secretary
