MEETING MINUTES
MEETING ~40
April 15, 2009
Present: Jenny Gould, Rona Smith, Bill Gatz.and Phillip Beltz. Excused: LeRoy Heyliger,
Margaret Minichini, John Yahey, Nancy Pester, Don Leslie, Jr. and Leslie Weisman.
The meeting began at 5:35 p.m.
Review of Minutes: Minutes approved for March 11,2009.
HAC Representative at Peconic Community Council Affordable Housinq Meetinq: Phillip
reminded members that he will be out of town for the April 27th 10:00 a.m. meeting and sought an
alternate to represent him. No one at the meeting could make the commitment at the time.
Cottaqes at Mattituck Update: Phillip informed HAC that his discussion with the Town Attorney
and CDCLI affirmed the importance of maintaining the process that was established when the
lottery took place. No further discussion.
Planninq of Public Forum: The following suggestions were offered: · When: Wednesday, June 17th at 6:00 p.m.
· Where: Town Hall meeting room.
· Format: Powerpoint presentation in which each HAC member will discuss a slide (reasons
recommendation made, etc. rather than just read it). HAC will select slides they are most
comfortable discussing. Discussion from public to follow, handouts will be made available,
· Facilitator: Phillip will introduce HAC members and discuss format.
· Community Outreach: Hamlet stakeholder notification, posters, channel 22, Suffolk Times
advertisement and community notice.
· Notes: All members should assist in taking notes so a report can be provided as
documentation of meeting with public.
· Other: Phillip will break down recommendations to a very simple document (with bullets)
for Powerpoint presentation.
For Distribution: Newsday, March 11,2009 and April 9, 2009
Next Meetinq Date: Wednesday, May 13th at Supervisor's conference room. We will plan and
"dress reherse" at this meetinq for the upcominq forum.
