MEETING ~29
April 9, 2008
Present: Leslie Weisman, Jenny Gould, Bill Gatz, Margaret Minichini, LeRoy Heyliger,
and Phillip Beltz.
Excused: Rona Smith, Nancy Pester, Don Leslie, Jr. and John Vahey.
The meeting began at 5:35 p.m.
Review of Minutes:
The March 12th minutes were approved.
Cottaqes/CDCLI Update:
· Phillip reported that the post-closing informational meeting was very successful
with 19 households attending. Questions arose from residents regarding patios
and they were informed to complete the HAC Permanent Fixed Improvement
(PFI) form.
· Members reviewed a PFI request to build a patio. Further clarification is needed
and Phillip will contact the resident to provide greater detail.
· Long Island Business News has awarded CDCLI and the Town of Southold as
best public and private partnership for its 2008 Real Estate Awards.
CPF/First Time Homebuyers Exemption:
Town Board agreed to propose exemption for first time homebuyers of CPF tax provided
they are residing in Town or County sponsored affordable housing initiative.
Apartment Leqislation Recommendations:
Comments from the Town Attorney were reviewed with further discussion and additional
suggested revisions were made to the document.
Housinq Advisory Commission Membership:
· LeRoy Heyliger was welcomed as a new member.
· Margaret Minichini, Jenny Gould and Don Leslie, Jr. renewed their memberships.
· One vacancy remains as a resident of the Cottages withdrew his candidacy.
Real Property Tax Council: Bill Gatz reported that the Real Property Tax Council is
considering affordable housing issues and specifically the chair, Linda Goldsmith would
like to meet with the HAC to discuss some ideas. Phillip will invite her to the next
meeting.
