MEETING #18
March 21,2007
Present: Jenny Gould, John Vahey, Charlie Zaloom, Don Leslie, Jr., Leah Glowacki,
Leslie Weisman, Councilman Dan Ross and Phillip Beltz. Excused: Sidney Holmes,
Margaret Minichini, Rona Smith and Nancy Pester. The meeting began at 5:35 p.m.
Review of Minutes:
The February 21st minutes were approved.
Presentation:
Tanya Palmore, director of the North Fork Housing Alliance provided information about
the agency's work and mission.
Cottaqes/CDCLI Update
· Ground breaking will be on April 3ra at 11 a.m. HAC are invited to attend.
· Applicant status-CDCLI is now in negotiations with the household who was
drawn 38th in the lottery selection.
Housin,q Implementation Plan (HIP):
Comments were made and further discussion will take place at the next meeting.
Housinq Advisory Commission Vacancy:
Charlie Zaloom has tendered his resignation from the HAC. The Town Board is
soliciting resumes for committee appointments for numerous vacancies throughout Town
government. Best wishes to Charlie and thank you for your hard work and efforts.
Affordable Housinq Developments:
· Community Land Trust/LIHP exploring site that will contain significant amount of
land preservation.
· Greenport Gateway concept plan provided to HAC from Rona Smith regarding a
proposed development in the village. Please review and provide commentary to
Rona Smith.
· The Affordable Housing Welcoming Committee (Supervisor, Town Attorney,
Planning Director and Special Projects Coordinator) is in discussion with several
entities for proposed affordable housing sites.
For Distribution: Suffolk Times, Newsday, "Housing: by the Numbers" and
advertisement by the Campaign for Next Generation Housing.
Next Meetinq Date: April 18, 2007, 5:30 p.m. at the Human Resource Ctr.
