LAND PRESERVATION COI~ITTEE
TOWN OF SOUTHOLD
LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING
JULY 15, 1996
MINUTES
The meeting started at 7:30 p.m. Present were: Joe Gold, Tom
Madigan, Jim Pim and Fred Lee.
The committee discussed the Angel Shores property. It is a sub-
division in Southold off of Main Bayview Road. There are three
parcels that are being offered to the Town from the developer as
a gift. One of the parcels is very unique. It has two fresh
water ponds and a salt water marsh area. Joe will discuss this
further with the Planning Board.
After much discussion by the committee, a motion was made by
Tom Madigan and seconded by Jim Pim to recommend that the Town
accept only the wetlands, if that fails, have a proviso that the
builder provide horticultural improvement on the other two pieces.
All were in favor.
A motion was made by Jim Pim and seconded by Tom Madigan
that the committee work with the Planning Board in setting up a
prospectus for the future preservation of farmland. All were in
favor.
A motion was made by Fred Lee and seconded by Tom Madigan
to adjourn the meeting at 9:00 p.m. All were in favor.
Respectfully submitted,
,!
