MINUTES OF MEETING

1. The Committee discussed three parcels which have been
submitted to the Town by owners, with the following conclusions:
Thornton Smith - Discuss further with Peconic Land Trust
with goal of reducing the size of the area for purchase of rights
by the Town.
Heins - Review possible prior offer of this parcel. The
Committee agreed that this was an attractive parcel, and that
met the guidelines for purchase of development rights.

Sepenoski - The Committee agreed to further review of this
parcel.
2. Three parcels which have been offered to Suffolk County were
reviewed in order to make recommendations to the County.
Cassidy - This property has been previously rejected by the
Committee because it failed to meet significant criteria for
purchase. It was agreed that the County should be advised against
purchase.
Tyree - This parcel meets relevant criteria, and the County
is advised to negotiate purchase of rights.
Kaufman - This parcel does not meet significant criteria.
3. D. McGahan agreed to contact local Historical Societies to
interest them in participating in the Fort Corchaug purchase.
4. The Committee agreed, by unanimous resolution, to request the
Town Board to place a referendum for a $2 million bond issue for
Open Space purchase on the ballot in November.
5. The Committee requested that the Chairman schedule a joint
meeting with the TDR committee as soon as possible to assure that
we have compatible objectives.
