LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING
MINUTES OF AUGUST 3, 199~
Present were:
Joe Gold
Jim Rich
John Simicich
Tim Caufield
The committee discussed the proposed referendum. Joe Gold will
speak to the Town Board on Tuesday, August 8th recommending
$2,000,000.00 for farmland preservation.
A motion was made by Jim Rich and seconded by John Simicich
to recommend to the Town Board the purchase of the development
rights on the Thornton Smith property for $265,000.00. (Since
there wasn't a quorum, Joe Gold contacted Tom Madigan after the
meeting and he agreed to the motion.) All were in favor.
A motion was made by John Simicich and seconded by Jim Rich
to recommend to the Town Board that David C. Wimpelberg, SRA
be contracted to conduct an appraisal of the Anna Fiore property.
(Since there wasn't a quorum, Joe Gold contacted Tom Madigan
after the meeting and he agreed to the motion.) All were in favor.
The committee discussed the Midgley property. Perhaps it could be
used for a town ramp for boat launching. There is no public
access to that creek.
Joe spoke to Mr. Sepenoski and gave him the appraisal price on
his property. He was not too happy with this figure.
The committee disucssed the Sledjeski appraisal. Joe Gold will contact
the $1edieski family and give them the appraisal price.
Joe will speak to the missing members regarding the T.D.R. program.
Tim Caufield will speak to I_ieb, Ruland and Koroleski representing
the Peconic Land Trust.
With no further business to be discussed, the meeting was adiourned
at 9:20 p.m.
