The Cassidy family has submitted an application to the Land Preservation Committee offering the development rights on the agricultural land, which is about 32 acres. Tim Caufield of the Peconic Land Trust has been working with the family on the remaining 30 acres of wetlands. There are two dykes on the property. A motion was made by Jim Pim and seconded by Jim Rich to recommend to the Town Board that Andy Stype be contracted to appraise the Cassidy property. All were in favor. Alice Hussie had asked the committee what their feelings were regarding the TDR Program. It was a consensus of the committee that combining the TDR program and Land Preservation might be complicated and confusing to the public. The committee felt, at least initially, the TDR program fly on its own. Joe Gold had been in touch with Fred Lappe. He is not interested in the appraisal price. Joe will ask Andy Stype to contact Mr. Lappe and explain to him why the appraisal price per acre is less than other appraisals. It is worth less because Mr. Lappe is holding out approximately 12 acres of road frontage. A motion was made by Jim Rich and seconded by Tom Madigan to recommend to the Town Board to have appraisals on the Koroleski, Ruland, Lieb and Steele properties. All were in favor. Joe suggested that before the appraisals are done that the owners be contacted and told what the approx- imate going price is per acre and see if they are still interested before the money is spent on an appraisal. Michael Croteau will contact the Rulands and Tim Steele and Joe Gold will contact Marc Lieb and John Koroleski. The committee discussed the Sledjeski property.
