HomeMy WebLinkAboutLP-11/27/1995LAND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES OF MINUTES OF NOVEMBER 27, 1995 Present were: Joe Gold, John Simicich, Jim Rich, Michael Croteau, and Ruth Oliva. The committee discussed the Koroleski farm. This appraisal came in higher than the others we had. Joe spoke with Dave Wimpelberg, the apppraiser, and he is standing by his appraisal. Joe then spoke with Andy Stype and he thought it was a fair appraisal, as it is a good piece Of property. A motion was made by Joe Gold and seconded by John Simicich to offer John Koroleski $8500.00 per acre. All were in favor. The committee also discussed the Cassidy appraisal. This property has some disadvantages such as: Lilco high tension wires, the L.I,R.R. tracks and there are some wetlands. A motion was made by Joe Gold and seconded by Michael Croteau ~o offerthe Cassidys $7000.00 per acre. All were in favor. Michael Croteau spoke with Mr. Ruland, who submitted an application to the committee. Michael told him what the appraisals have been coming in at and he is not happy with that figure. Michael also spoke with Mr. Steele. This farm is not in active farmland production. Joe will send a letter explaining to Mr. Steele that the law concerning agricultural lands preservation specifically requires that the property must be used in a bonafide agricultural production. The committee also discussed the application of Donna Dzugas-Smith. Joe will look at the property.
