Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held on June 3,
1993 at the Park District office with Commissioners Adams.
and Sabat present, Commissioner Goehringer was absent.
Secretary and Treasurer present.
On motion of Pete Sabat, seconded by Ed Adams and
carried, the minutes were accepted as presented with two
corrections, Portable Potties $65.00 and $1500.00 for
survey.
Ed Adams authorized John Cushman to purchase two surf
boards for life guards at approximately $195.00 each.
A request from Mary Haven was received asking for
permission to use Veterans' Park as a rest stop for their
bike-a-thon on June 13, 1993. On motion of Pete Sabat,
seconded by Ed Adams and carried, permission was granted.
Bluepoints Company requested permission to place a 2' x
3' floating shellfish seed raft in waters of Mattituck Creek
under the dock at the Love Lane site. On motion of Pete
Sabat, seconded by Ed Adams and carried the Secretary was
instructed to write to said company sending them an
application for Special Use and informing them that a
$1,000,000.00 liability certificate of insurance naming the
Park District as additional insured was needed.
A cellular phone is to be purchased to use at the Slo
Pitch ball park site. The Park District will be reimbursed
the $216.00, more or less, by the slo pitch league. Phone
is to be returned to the Park District at the end of the
season.
Beach permits were discussed and on motion of Pete
Sabat, seconded by Ed Adams and carried charges for same are
as follows: $4.00 Regular Season Pass and $3.00 for a Guest
Pass for one-day.
Secretary to give information regarding a lease for
$1.00 a season with the slo pitch league to the attorneys.
Park District to pay for electricity and porta-potties. Slo
pitch league to pay for up-keep.
A cellular phone to be given to Barbara Droskoski for
the life guards.
On motion of Ed Adams, seconded by Pete Sabat and
carried the following three lifeguards are to be hired for
the 1993 season:
Kirsten Andresen to be paid $8.48 per hour
Kyle Andresen to be paid $7.69 per hour
Amy Droskoski to be paid $9.01 per hour
On motion of Ed Adams, seconded by Pete Sabat and
carried Brian Farrish is to be hired as a laborer for the
1993 summer season at $5.50 per hour.
On motion of Ed Adams, seconded by Pete Sabat and
carried, Southold Town Recreation was authorized to use
Veterans' Memorial Park from June 28, 1993 to July 9, 1993
for water safety.
On motion of Pete Sabat, seconded by Ed Adams and
carried, the Treasurer's report was approved as follows:
