District held on May 10, 1989 at the office of the Mattituck Park District, Main Road,
Mattituek, New York with all Commissioners present. Absent, Madeline Haas, Secretary,

No bills or Treasurer's report
Old Business: Inspection of parks to be completed by Memorial Day, if possible.
Vets Park:
1. Picnic tables out and in place
2. Trash cans
3. Fixed split fence along bulkhead parking
4. Finish up roof on concession stand and get in readiness
Yacht Club
1. Fix bathrooms and repaint
2. Pain fence of ball park
3. Life guard chair
4. Trash cans in place
Bay Avenue, Little League 1. Tennis net on east court

90 foot poles to be removed and taken to Breakwater to be used
along west side of Breakwater Road

Commissioners discussed the merchants of Mattituck wishing the docks be open for
48 hourrs maximum tie up of boats. Betty Tyler to operate it on Friday, Saturday
and Sunday if she wants to with 50/50 charge to off-set her time. Ail Commissioners
in favor. However first insurance must be checked to see if coverage is alright.
Also low voltage lighting must be put in and sign put up. Park District will
not be responsible for damage to boats. This will be on a first come, first serve
basis.
Gate Guards: Same as last year. Bonnie Mathews, Tracy Gamble, Denise Goehringer
at $4.50 per h our starting Memorial Day until Labor Day with Tuesday and Thursday
days off on an alternating basis. HOurse are from 9:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. daily.
Mr. Goehringer will make up a schedule
Secretary instructed to send letters of thanks to S/L Irrigation, Inc. and Plantings
by the Sea, Inc.
Letter also to be sent to Supt. of Highway requsting that Town oil and sand
Breakwater and Yacht Club parking lots at Park District expense for oil and sand.
At 7:40 the meeting was joined by William Wickham, Gall Wiekham Bressler and
Larry Reeve, former Park Commissioner.
Co~issioner Goehringer made presentation of plaque to William Wickham for his
40 years of service to District.
At 8:00 P.M. bid for Veterans Concession Stand was opened. Rosemary F. McCamish,
447 Riverside Drive, Riverhead, New York 11901 (369-0867) was bidder with bid
of $~00 and check of $250.00 enclosed. Bid accepted and she will operate the
concession from Memorial Day until Labor Day with park hours.
The purchase of a new mower was discussed:
John Deer - 72 inches cut with 4-wheels
Cushman - 72 inches cut with 4-wheels
both mowers are under state contract.
