HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-07/18/1989 Minutes of regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held on Tuesday, July 18, 1989 at 7:30 P.M. at the Park District Office on Main Road, Mattituck, New York with all Commissioners present. Also present was Jim Cox, custodian of District. Peter Sabat made a motion seconded by Ed Adams to approve the May minutes with one correction and accept the June minutes as read. Motion unanimously carried. The Treasurer's report was approved as read as follows; Checking Account $ 2,574.13 Money Market Account 86,498.70 Total $89,072.83 The following bills were ordered paid: Lilco N.Y.Telephone Peumy Lumber Modern Electric Metro Rental Lou's Service Station I. Secretary instructed to write to Mitch Markowski saying the matter is being taken under consideration. Petition received from Marlene Civic Association regarding the installation of a light over by their right of way on the west side of Veterans Park site and closing the park at 10:00 P.M. Secretary instructed to write to Chief of Police asking for a policeman to assist a park representative to clear the parking lot at Vets Park each evening at 10:00 P.M. so that the gates could be closed. Hr. George Penny and Mr. Bressler entered the meeting re: Boat ramp at the Love Lane site. Mr. Bressler informed the Commissioners that the only mention of leasing under the law refers to leasing buildings. He also said that to sell it must go to public referendum. Mrs. McCamish is to be given approval for opening the concession at the Sound. Mr. Cox informed Commissioners that the light at the Breakwater site has not been fixed by LILCO. at Little League Field Mr. Cox also informed the Commissioners that the time clock/for the irrigation has been trashed. Pete Sabat said the new irrigation at Aldrich Lane will be installed. The proposed budget (attached hereto) was discussed. On motion of Pete Sabat, seconded by Jerry Goehringer and carried the proposed budget was accepted for vote on August 16, 1989. No further business to come before the meeting, the meeting was adjourned.
