Park District held at the District Office in Mattituck, New York on August 23,
1989 at 7:30 P.M, with all Commissioners present. Absent: Robert Graeb, Treasurer.
At 7:00 P.M. Chairman Adams swore in the inspectors of election (Judy
Thilberg and Bonnie Adams) and declared the polls open.
The Treasurer's report was tabeled.

Mr. Dan Ross, an associate attorney with Wickham, Wickham & Bressler
attended the meeting to review and finalize the safety plans for Suffolk
County and signed by Chairman Adams to have Mr. Ross take to a hearing
on August 24, 1989.
Mr. Adams reported that on September 23 and 24 the Big Apple Bike-a-Thon
had asked for the use of Veterans Memorial Park. Mr. Cox to send reply of
At the request of the Fire Department the Commissioners agreed to renew
the agreement had regarding the arch at the Veterans Memorial Park so long as
the Department kept it in a safe and sound condition.
Mr. b~ams reported that this past weekend there had been extensive
vandalism to the concession building at Veterans' Memorial Park. The bathrooms
could not be used so he had authorized the use of portable facilities until
the bathrooms were fixed.
Mr. Buddy Ctbulski is reviewing the shuffleboard court at Veterans'
Memorial Park as to Just what can be done to revitalize it.
Letter was received from the Town of Southold approving proposed agreement
with the Board of Commissioners regardiug the ramp at the Love Lane site. In
substance the Town agreed to re-surface the existing ramp and extend it to
twice the existing size. They agree to maintain the ramp but the lock key
control with be through the Mattituck Park District. The parking area on the
Town Trustees property adjoining the Park Properties on the west will be for
all Town residents' use. Mr. Dan Ross took letter for the attorneys to draft
up the materials for the referendum hearing and vote.
There will be a public referendum meeting on the ramp situation on
November 15 and a vote on November 16, 1989.
A letter was received from CDHM, an advertising firm from Stamford,
Connecticute complimenting the Commissioners on the Love Lane site. Letter has
been put on file.
No further business to come before the meeting, the meeting was adjourned.
At 9:00 P.M. the polls were declared closed and the inspectors counted
the ballots. There were /~ number of ballots counted: /7 Yes ~ No.
The budget was therefore approved for the 1990 year.
