HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-09/20/1989 Minutes of regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held on September 20, 1989 at 7:30 P.M. at the Park District Office on Main Road, Mattituck, New York with all commissioners present. On motion of Pete Sabat, seconded by Jerry Goehringer, and carried the minutes were approved as presented. On motion of Edward Adams, seconded by Pete Sabat and carried, the Treasurer's report presented was approved as follows: Checking Account Money Market Account $ 2,537.75 49,193.27 Total $51,731.02 The following bills were ordered paid:.. Secretary instructed to respond to the questions asked. Mr. Adams reported that restitution has been msde in full (cash) for vandalism at Veterans Memorial Park. Letter read from Roy Reeve asking for a list of drivers using District vehicles and their driver's identification numbers. Jim Cox to take care of same. Beach Safety Plan to be kept on tickler system for filing April or May. It was reported that the Mattituck High School tennis team would like to use our tennis courts until the high school courts are repaired. So agreed ur~ously by Com~fssioners. It was reported that new posts have been put up between the parking lot on Pike Street and the Market Place. Market Place and DiVello are to get new keys. Secretary instructed to request Pay Jacobs to put refuse cans at the parking lot on Pike Street. Jim Cox reported that the transmission is tired in the dump truck. The Commissioners discused the various options. Jim to get prices for replacing the engine and new transmission, prices for automatic and manual transmission, and price for deisel or gas. Notice of public meeting and vote to be published three weeks prior to November 15th (Meeting). Vote on November 16, 1989, re: Love Lane boat ramp. Attached are requirements the Commissioners wish to have agreed upon between the Town of Southold and the Mattituck Park District should the tax payers of the Park District vote in favor of the Town taking over the ramp and all of Southold Town having access to the launching ramp. Letter received from the Corps of Engineers stating that there is a possibility of the east side of Mattituck Inlet for a certain type of spoil. We have no problem with the placing of such sand in this particular area. However, we do have a problem with the selt and the clay. We would not want those materials deposited at that site. We would also require any grading so as to return this particular area to a more suitable beach. On motion of Edward Adams, seconded by Jerry Goehringer and carried, a 72" cut John Deer mower is to be purchased from state contract. Mr. Adams announced that the October meeting would be held on October 19th, 1989 rather than October 18, 1989. No further business to come before the meeting, the meeting was adjourned. By use of key, controlled by the Mattituck Park District, $6.00 for Park District residents - $12.00 for Southold Town residents outside of Park District Mattituck Park District residents will park on Park District property and Southold Town residents outside the Park District will park on Town property to the west of Park site Responsibility of the Town To be obtain by Southold Town Any changes necessitated to the site regarding the construction of the ramp will be borne by the Town of Southold. Because of increase usage of the Park District property Town of Southold to bear expenses of roadway to ramp.
