HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-06/20/1990 Minutes of the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held June 20, 1990 at the Park District Office on Main Road, Mattituck, New York with all Commissioners, Treasurer, and Jim Cox, custodian present. Absent: Madeline Haas, Secretary Commissioner Ed Adams dedicated the meeting to Ex-Commissioner Laurence P. Reeve who passed away and a moment of silence was observed. There were no minutes from the May meeting as only Mr. Adams and Mrs. Sabat attended same and could conduct no business. The building footings and use of the bathroom was discussed. This discussion was followed by discussion of a Morton building on Sacks property (50' x 60') or at Vet's Park (50' x 75'). Discussion of the culvert at the Yacht Club site was discussed with Mr. Eric Bressler, attorney for the District, who had entered the meeting. Roger Munz is to give Jerry Goehringer the name of a Dept. of Public Works engineer. Lois Barker has stated that the right-of-way from the parking lot on Pike Street to Love Lane is to be kept by the community. A discussion was had on the American Legion building. Roger Munz, catamaran person, presented a letter for June 23rd and June 24th catamaran races at Vet's Park. Approval moved bu Pete Sabat, seconded by Jerry Goehringer and carried. The town of Southold swi~m~ing program was approved at the Breakwater and at Vet's Park, west of ropes on motion of Ed Adams, seconded by Pete Sabat and carried. Discussion was had on checking account signatures. Ed Adams to get signature cards for money market account and checking account. Secretary is to be instructed to write to Southold Town Police that the parks close at 10:00 P.M. and Commissioners want it enforced. Secretary to type C omiss±oners names at the bottom of the letter. A memorial plaque at Scouters Lodge for Larry Reeve was discussed.
