Mr. Block and Mr. Reilly from the new laundromat
entered the meeting to discuss the letter the Park District
had written and the manner in which it was delivered.. They
were upset with its contents about the use of the pa~king
lot adjoining their property on Love Lane. The Commissioner
reassured them that the letter did not mean they could not
use the parking lot only that heavy equipment and supplies
could not be left on the parking lot grounds. They asked if
the curb could be taken out behind the laundromat edging the
parking lot. Commissioners could see no reason why it could
not be done. Also the easement was discussed between the
Market Place and Love Lane Laundromat. Secretary to speak
to Mr. Wickham about the liability and get back to the men.
Mr. Roger Munz entered the meeting requesting the use
of the park facilities to run races off the beach mostly at
the Yacht Club site. Permission granted but liability
insurance must be given ahead of time.
The ball park site and the caved in ground was
discussed. Mr. Wickham to be contacted about what legally
should be done.
The C6mmissioners agreed that there will be only four
lifeguards.this year - 2 at Vets Park end 2 at the
Breakwater.
Secretary instructed to publish the concession, notice
for bids in the newspaper.
On motio~ of Pete Sabat, seconded by Ed Adams and
carried the attached resolutions were approved.
The Treasurer gave a run downon insurance overages and
possible changes. He would like to see the package go out
to bid. 'Also an engineer should come from the companies to
go around to the sites and suggest coverage.
There being no further business to come before the
meeting, the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted
Madeline S. Haas
