HomeMy WebLinkAboutMPD-06/19/1991 Minutes of the Regular Meeting of the Board of
Commissioners of the Mattituck Park District held on June
19, 19ql at the Park District Office on Main Road,
Mattituck, New York, with all Commissioners present.
Mr. Costanza entered the meeting with his son,
Christian. Christian admitted to vandalism at the ball park
site and apologized for his act and that it would not happen
again. The Commissioners told Mr. Costanza they would not
press charges. Their procedure was to ask for restitution
of the repairs with a reprimand to the culprit and excuse
the same. Mr. Costanza said he would send a check for
$300.00 to cover the cost of two light bulbs and two lens'
which had been broken. Commissioners thanked them for
coming and they excused themselves.
Mr. Mitch Markowski was also present as President of
the Men's Slo Pitch league. He asked that the ball field on
Peconic Bay Boulevard be restricted use by permission only
to anyone outside the league. His request was due to the
fact of all the money the league has invested in the field
with the permission of the Commissioners and they are
finding things broken and entering locked quarters. He also
complained that there was no water in the bathrooms and that
the Yacht Club kept shutting the water off. A lease for the
field was discussed.
On motion of Jerry Goehringer, seconded by Pete Sabat,
a trailer for the truck is to be purchased for $1701.00.
On motion of Jerry Goehringer, seconded by Pete Sabat
and carried, the minutes of the previous meeting were
approved as presented.
Ed Adams announced that if anyone inquired about the
bleachers from the ball park site being missing, they are
being repaired.
Mr. Cox was authorized to purchase 2 6 x 6's to be used
for the play ground equipment at the Breakwater site.
Mr. Cox is to get rid of the grass in front of the
office.
Mr. Muir is in charge of the lifeguards this year but
in view of the fact of his age and his heart attacks, the
Commissioners feel that someone should be appointed to take
this job over. Miss Patricia Zanieski was suggested. No
formal action was taken.
Mr. Reilly and Mr. Block would not sign the easement as
presented to them because they do not want a gravel walkway
but a black top. Mr. Wickham to be contacted about same.
Mr. Sabat asked if the work log of Mr. Cox for the
previous month had been sent in. No one had it.
Commissioners did not want the Mattituck Sanitation
dumpsters at the three park sites.
